What material should I choose my jewelry for?

March 26, 2020

Surely you've asked yourself this question many times and I'm here to help you decide!

First of all, you need to know that the metals that can be used to make a jewel are really many: silver, gold, platinum, steel, bronze, titanium, tungsten, brass, copper and ... the list goes on.

However, as you may have noticed, on my e-Store I decided to only sell jewelry in   STERLING SILVER 925 .

In the next few lines I will explain why and get ready to discover many interesting things about this magnificent metal!

Pure silver   it is 99.9% silver metal without additives. Its purity, if on the one hand makes it a metal of greater value, on the other it gives it an excessive softness, unsuitable for jewelry, products that normally tend to wear.

Ingot of pure silver

To create shiny, but at the same time resistant silver jewelry, I add fractions of other metals such as copper and zinc, producing a "silver alloy".

These metals are added 7.5% to pure silver, to make it   STERLING 925 .

This type of silver is resistant to blows, deformations and dents every day, and lives up to the quality standard of my jewelry.

The 92.5% pure silver content is what gives the name "925 Sterling" silver.

Being made up of metals that do not cause reactions in the human body, STERLING 925 silver is 100%   HYPOALLERGENIC .

This means that if your skin reacts negatively to the lower metals, a switch to 925 Sterling Silver could make the possibility of wearing jewelry real and feasible again.

Visibly it is absolutely the most   WHITE   is   POLISHABLE   of metals; however, with the passage of time, silver inevitably tends to oxidize, due to the sulfur that is present in the air and must be periodically cleaned.

No fear!

I have described how to do house cleaning in a   article   of my blog that I invite you to read.

In any case, if you do not have the time or the desire to do it in person, you can always contact me who, in addition to making jewels, I also deal with different   services   including cleaning and restoration.

A simple cleaning will be enough to make your jewel shine again as before!

Silver is also known for its   VALUE   and, at any time, you can find out the price per gram in real time.

Finally, perhaps most important, is that a hard silver jewel   FOREVER . Certainly for your life and that of your children and grandchildren. Once you own it, you will never do without it.

When you invest in silver, it is a guaranteed investment for life.

Own it, love it and turn it into a precious piece of your family history, because that 925 Sterling Silver jewel will be around for a long, long time.
